Welcome to the GARRISON CREEK ART EDUCATION CENTRE!

Art classes, festive workshops, March Break programs, summer camps! are all wonderful ways to learn through the arts and celebrate the seasons, at the Garrison Creek Art Centre!

The centre is situated in Toronto’s West End, near Dufferin Grove Park, on the main floor of a sunny house. In warm weather, classes are held in the outdoor garden/almost forest studio! Art programs are offered to children from 5-11 yrs.

Groups are small with 2-3 artist/teachers available to give lots of one-on-one encouragement.

The centre is dedicated to extending learning & spreading culture through the arts. It has been running since 1997.

Starting April 2024

After school Wed 4-5:30pm, Sat 1:30-3pm, $198./per 5 weeks 5-11 yrs

Explore natural science, ancient civilizations & the work of great artists through creative drawing & painting.

Enjoy mastering a number of art-making media including oil pastels, watercolor pencil crayons, mono-printing, charcoal & many more! Learn essential design tools of composition & color theory.

While the nice weather continues, classes are being held in the lush, outdoor, garden studio!

Making art can be a gateway to learning.

These classes emphasize creativity, curiosity & interaction. Through stories, slideshows, collaborative drawing games, painting, mixed media & sculpture, students will be guided to investigate the curriculum.

Science, literacy, math, history & social studies are among weekly topics.

Inspiration from a range of artists including Emily Carr,

Henri Rousseau, Marc Chagall, Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe, Yayoi Kusama, Christi Belcourt, David Hockney, Frida Kahlo & Keith Haring.

Starts: November 8/23 & continues through to April/24

Saturdays: 1:30-2:45pm

Wednesdays after school 4-5:15pm

Ongoing /continuous registration $198/per 6 weeks

Age 5-11 can be accommodated
